ROBIN GABRIEL-PARSON, Cultural Ambassador
Robin was born and raised in the heart of New Orleans Jazz Alley best known for Second Lines (traditional brass band parades inclusive of Jazz funerals) and Mardi Gras Indians. At an early age her family moved to Algiers, the second oldest neighborhood in New Orleans.
A graduate from the University of New Orleans, with a BS in Cultural Studies. An Oral Historian, Independent Scholar, and Cultural Ambassador and one of the leading contributors to the preservation of Louisiana History & Culture.
For over 20 years Robin served as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Louis Armstrong Foundation Inc. New Orleans, LA. where she produced programs, projects, and activities that focused on the evolution of the Jazz cultural art form, New Orleans Dance & musical traditions, and Louisianas rich cultural heritage. She is a member of the Mid South Women In Tourism, New Orleans & Company, Urban League of Louisiana, Louisiana History Association, The French Colonial History Society and the owner of Tours by NOLA.
When she is not preserving Louisiana history she is actively advocating for healthy communities as a Fitness & Wellness Consultant.
